Forest of Dean Bodgers

Working with green, freshly cut, unseasoned wood outdoors – the traditional way – is a slow, creative, and connected way to make things. Using your hands to create and nurture has so many positive health benefits, both physical and mental.

The Bodgers Retreat is a large bushcraft shelter currently equipped with two pole lathes and shave horses, workbenches and seating and all the tools needed to partake in your chosen activity, including hand carving.

Members have full access to the facilities provided by the Forest Community Shed, its fully equipped workshop, social room, refreshments and the wider Orchard Trust Day Services site.
Meet people with the same interests, share skills, learn new ones in a relaxed informal atmosphere.

Potential for running courses and inviting in local talent.

NEW BARN

We are just about to start the construction of an open sided accessible barn, to demonstrate and practice predominantly hand and heritage skills.

The space will also be used for other activities including pottery, willow weaving and spinning, and use as a social space in a green environment.
